No bill# - General support of health and mental health programs funding, including funding for Health Resoures and Services Administration and Natl. Institutes of Health, funding for education & training for occupational therapy; and funding for disability and rehabilitation research.
No bill: appropriations bill - advocate to have occupational therapy listed as mental health profession and included in the funds being directed towards training new mental health professionals. Support funding President's budget request for training mental health workforce.

S. 689 - Mental Health Awareness and Improvement Act: Advocate for inclusion of occupational therapists in the National Health Servaice Corps scholarship and loan repayment program as behavioral and mental health professionals and for defining occupational therapy under "qualified mental health professional."
HR 5 - Student Success Act - Elementary and Secondary Education Act Reauthorization (No Child Left Behind) - promote optimum recognition and use of full scope of occupational therapy practice in schools, including in behavior and multi-tiered systems of support; inclusion of the term "specialized instructional support personnel;" inclusion of occupational therapists in professional development opportunities; and maintaining rigorous standards and expectations for students with disabilities.

Advocated with Paolo del Vecchio, Director, Center for Mental Health Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to make occupational therapists eligible for pediatric mental health workforce training money included in the Affordable Care Act, under the qualifying category of behavioral pediatrics; and to include occupational therapy as a service in the First Episode Psychosis programs.
