Working with EPA on details and requirements of a waiver to section 211(f) of the Clean Air Act for higher blends of ethanol, beyond 10 percent.
Opposed H.R.748, a bill sponsored by Congressman Sensenbrenner (WI), that would deny EPA's authority to approve ethanol blends higher than 10%.
Organized a fly-in March 29-30 where our members met with 140 House offices, encouraging them to oppose this bill.

Supported S. 152 sponsored by Senator Lugar (R-IN), a bill to require 50% of all autos sold in the U.S. be dual fuel vehicles in 2014 and 2015 and 90% to be dual fuel by 2016.
Supported S. 187 sponsored by Senators Harkin (D-IA), Johnson (D-SD), Klobuchar (D-MN), and Franken (D-MN) that would, among other things, require that 50% of all autos sold in the U.S. be dual fuel vehicles by 2014 and 2015 and 90% be dual fuel by 2016.
Supported S. 559 sponsored by Senators Klobuchar (D-MN) and Johnson (D-SD) which establishes an Open Fuel Standard, requiring that not less than 30% of all autos sold in the U.S. are fuel choice enabling vehicles by 2013 with annual increases until such time that not less than 100% of all autos sold in the U.S. are fuel choice enabling vehicles by 2021. Fuel choice enabling vehicles include FFVs, electrics, hydrogen fuel cells, and plug-in hybrids.
Organized a fly-in March 29-30, 2011 where our members met with 30 Senate offices, encouraging their support of the bills mentioned in this section.

Opposed S. 493, a bill sponsored by Senator Coburn (OK) to immediately elimiate the Volumetric Ethanol Excise Tax Credit (VEETC). Organized a fly-in March 29-30 where our members met with 30 Senate offices encouraging them to oppose this bill.

Opposed amendments to H.R.1 that would have prohibited EPA from using funds to implement their decision to allow E15 in vehicles 2001 and newer and would have prohibited USDA from using funds to implement a program to support the installation of blender pumps.
