Support for the inclusion of higher education priorities and funding including efforts to expand the Pell Grant and increase the federal award amount, support for additional funding for federal research and research infrastructure, support for workforce and economic development initiatives, student mental health and academic success priorities in the FY25 budget and appropriations legislation. Continued support for the UW System's 2024 Federal Priorities including increased funding for: the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Estuarine Research Reserve, the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Capacity Building Grants for Non-Land Grant Colleges of Agriculture, and the Pell Grant Program. Support for federal financial aid programs including: the Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, Federal Work Study, TRIO, GEAR UP, and the Pell Grant Program. Support for sustainability efforts and energy and water sciences research - including via the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and Department of Energy - the Freshwater Collaborative of Wisconsin, including PFAS research.
