Contacted and met with Representatives, Senators, and legislative staff in support of funding for research and higher education/student financial aid programs in FY 2017. Encouraged timely passage of FY 2017 appropriations bills. Requested support for a continuing resolution to avoid a government shutdown; encouraged work toward individual appropriations bills or an omnibus appropraition bill for FY 2017. Specific legislation includes:
