-Request for Information (RFI): HHS Initiative To Strengthen Primary Health Care - shared feedback in response to the aforementioned request for information (RFI) from the perspective of practicing specialty medicine providers, urging Health and Human services to work with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to ensure that the Quality Payment Program (QPP) offers more clinically relevant participation pathways for specialists that result in truly meaningful improvements to patient care.
-Expressed support for Getting Over Lengthy Delays in Care As Required by Doctors (GOLD CARD) Act of 2022 (H.R. 7995) legislation. Supports Congress working to advance legislation which would reduce the administrative burdens of prior authorization in the Medicare Advantage program to ensure safe, timely, and affordable access to care for patients.
-Supports H.R. 3173, the Improving Seniors Timely Access to Care Act, which would improve the prior authorization process in Medicare Advantage plans through increased transparency and the establishment of an electronic prior authorization process and urges Congress to advance this legislation
-Supported legislative action to mitigate scheduled cuts generated by changes within the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS). These critical payment reduction relief policies provided increased financial stability for Medicare clinicians and helped to ensure our nations seniors maintained access to high-quality care.
-We continue to be deeply alarmed about the mounting financial instability of the Medicare physician payment system. Strongly urged Congress to address the looming Medicare cuts in 2023 by establishing a permanent Medicare payment system that improves and preserves patient access to physician care.
-Applauds the introduction of H.R. 8800, the Supporting Medicare Providers Act of 2022. This critical legislation provides a 4.42% positive adjustment to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) conversion factor (CF) for CY2023, thereby mitigating payment cuts within the MPFS that are anticipated to take effect on January 1, 2023.

-We urge the FDA to take immediate action by adding lidocaine and lidocaine with epinephrine to the List of Extended Use Dates to Assist with Drug Shortages. We further request that FDA engage with stakeholders to find a long-term solution.
-expressly encouraged the FDA to finalize its proposed rules entitled General and Plastic Surgery Devices: Restricted Sale, Distribution, and Use of Sunlamp Products (Docket No. FDA-2015-N-1765); and the Sunlamp Products; Proposed Amendment to Performance Standard (Docket No.
FDA-1998-N-0880).
-Following the Post-FDA Meeting of the General and Plastic Surgery Devices Panel of the Medical Devices Advisory Committee regarding the proposed reclassification of Skin Lesion Analyzers (SLAs), we urge FDA to maintain the current regulatory regime, and continue to mandate a Class III approval process for SLA devices.
