Discussed potential cyber vulnerabilities that could arise from the supply chain and the need to ensure equipment used on the electric grid is secure.
Discussed potential ways to address third-party liability concerns during a grid security emergency.
Discussed APPAs cooperative agreement with the Department of Energy (DE-OE-0000811), Improving the Cyber Resiliency and Security Posture of Public Power, and how APPA is using funding to work with its members to improve their cyber hygiene.
Provided feedback on and support for H.R. 359, the Enhancing Grid Through Public-Private Partnerships Act, to permanently authorize program assisting small- and medium-sized electric utilities with grid security.
Discussed the electric utility industry's efforts to protect the grid and its close work with the federal government on cyber and physical security through the Electricity Subsector Coordinating Council.
