HR 1693 Democracy Restoration Act: To secure the Federal voting rights of persons when released from incarceration. First, the bill declares that the right of a U.S. citizen to vote in any election for federal office shall not be denied or abridged because that individual has been convicted of a criminal offense unless, at the time of the election, such individual is serving a felony sentence. Further, the bill provides for enforcement of, and remedies for violations of, the bill. In addition, it sets forth requirements for state and federal notification of individuals of the restoration of their voting rights. Finally, the bill prohibits federal funding of construction or improvement of a place of incarceration unless U.S. citizens incarcerated in that jurisdiction are notified, upon release, of their voting rights.
HR 3510 First Step Implementation Act: To reform sentencing laws and correctional institutions, and for other purposes. Parole for juveniles, Juvenile sealing and expungement, ensuring accuracy of federal criminal records.
HR 3669 COVID-19 Safer Detention Act: To expand eligibility for and provide judicial review for the Elderly Home Detention Pilot Program, provide for compassionate release based on COVID-19 vulnerability, shorten the waiting period for judicial review during the COVID-19 pandemic, and make other technical corrections.
HR 1693 Eliminating a Quantifiably Unjust Application of the Law (EQUAL) Act: Elimination of increased penalties for cocaine offenses where the cocaine involved is cocaine base.
