Young, Jr. Social Work Reinvestment Act Issue: Health/Social Work Workforce - Support a bill to establish the Social Work Reinvestment Commission to provide independent counsel to Congress on policy issues associated with the recruitment, retention, research, and reinvestment in the profession of social work. H. R. 4872 (Spratt) Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 Support an Act to provide
for reconciliation pursuant to Title II of the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2010. The bill makes a number of health-related financing and revenue changes to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act enacted by H.R.3590 and modifies higher education assistance programs. We have written letters to House members and made numerous phone calls to House staff. H.R. 6654/S. 3364 Increased Student Achievement Through Increased Student Support. Sent alerts to House and Senate Members and made phone calls. The Dorothy I. Height and Whitney M. Young, Jr. Social Work Reinvestment Act: the initiative attempts to address matters of recruitment/
retention as it pertains to the Social Work profession, in addition to the establishment of a Social Work commission to study significant problems associated with the profession; (H.R.795/S.686).
