Opposed S 247 and HR 520, the Accelerated Retirement of Inefficient Vehicles Act of 2009.
HR 1550 & S. 1135, the CARS Act to provide incentives to purchase/scrap vehicles: supported inclusion of amendments to require that cars turned-in be less than 25-years old, and to allow the drive train to be recycled if reduced to component parts.
Supported HR 550 and HR 1606, the New Auto Voucher Act of 2009 to provide incentives to purchase motor vehicles.
Supported HR 1808, the Clean Car Rebate Act of 2009 to provide incentives to purchase motor vehicles.
Supported S 333 and HR159, the Auto Ownership Tax Assistance Act to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to allow an above-the-line deduction against individual income tax for interest on indebtedness and for State sales and excise taxes with respect to the purchase of certain motor vehicles.
HR 2454: American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009: support provision to encourage vehicle owners to retrofit automobiles with energy efficient products. Support same in Senate bill.

Supported health care reform legislation, including changes to HR 3200 (America's Affordable Health Choices Act) and
HR 3590 (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act) that will provide access to affordable insurance without imposing costly employer mandates. Opposed provisions that do not address sufficiently the market reforms necessary to reduce skyrocketing premiums and which impose employer mandates.
Supported legislative initiatives to allow small companies to pool together collectively across state lines and purchase economical health plans, such as S 2795 and HR 6210, the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) Act, introduced during the 110th Congress.

Opposed HR 980, the "Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act" as overly-broad in scope, lacking threshold local/state support, and unnecessarily threatening closure of roads and trails for off-road vehicles.
Monitored HR 3914, to designate certain lands in San Miguel, Ouray, and San Juan Counties, Colorado, as wilderness.

Undertook lobbying activities to establish a permanent level for the estate tax before it reverts to a 55 percent tax rate in 2011.
Undertook lobbying activities to extend the research and development tax credit for one or more years, make permanent a simpler alternative for calculating the credit, and increase the credit from 14% to 20%.
Supported provisions within HR1/S 1, the economic stimulus bill, to provide business tax incentives (bonus depreciation, enhanced small business expensing, 5-year net operating loss carryback) and individual tax incentives (payroll tax credit, sales tax deduction for vehicle purchases). Supported extension of the provisions beyond 2009 under certain economic circumstances.
