9 March 2023 Coalition letter to chair McHenry and Rep. Waters on behalf of the undersigned national, state, and local organizations, we urge you to oppose the Taking Account of Bureaucrats Spending Act, also known as the TABS Act. This bill would replace the Consumer Financial Protection Bureaus (CFPB) stable funding mechanism and instead, subject the agency to annual appropriations by Congress.
16 May 2023--Letter to FDIC Chair Gruenberg and NC bank regulators from USPIRG and Student Borrower Protection Center requesting action re First Carolina Bank and partner BMT (formerly Bankmobile) concerning campus banking activities.
Helped plan a coalition advocacy week in support of the Fossil Free Finance Act, which would require large banks to stop providing financing for fossil fuel projects, which will take place in August.

Lead virtual coalition meetings for Consumer Advocacy Week to get members of Congress to defend/promote the CFPB, oppose the TABS Act (which would subject the agency to the appropriations process), join an amicus brief in support of the CFPB in a Supreme Court case over the constitutionality of its funding, promote the FTC's good work for consumers (i.e. money returned, fraud reports processed), support the FTC's Auto Dealer Rule (which would regulate the way auto dealers advertise and sell vehicles), and support restoring the FTC's Section 13(b) authority to return money back to consumers and stop illegal activity.
