Railroad Retirement, Occupational Disability - TCU met with members of the Government Operations Subcommittee to discuss the outlook of the Occupational Disability program of the Railroad Retirement Board.

Customer Service Representatives Assault Language - TCU lobbied the House alongside our affiliate, the International Association of Machinists (IAM), to ask Congress to support language to protect Customer Service Representatives from assault. The language has been introduced in the past as an amendment.

National Mediation Board (NMB) Funding - TCU lobbied for an increase in funding for the NMB to help relieve the large backlog of arbitration cases.

FY 2017 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) Funding Bill - TCU lobbied in opposition to a provision in the bill that could affect job protections for food and beverage workers on Amtrak.

National Mediation Board (NMB) Funding - TCU lobbied for an increase in funding for the NMB to help relieve the large backlog of arbitration cases.

S.2042 & H.R. 3514, Workplace Action for Growing Economy (Wage Act) - TCU lobbied in favor of this legislation which protects and defends the bargaining and organizing rights of workers. The WAGE Act would require the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to seek an injunction when there is reasonable cause to believe a worker was illegally fired for speaking up, just as it does when there are allegations against unions.
