Contacts in support of inclusion in budget reconciliation legislation (H.R. 1626 and Senate Better Care Reconciliation Act) provisions to (1) repeal and replace provisions of Public Law 111-148 ("Obamacare") that contain multiple abortion-subsidizing and abortion-expanding aspects; (2) incorporate certain tax provisions that facilitate coverage for lifesaving care in private health plans; (3) deny most federal funding for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the nation's largest abortion provider, and its affiliates; (4) strengthen provisions in PL 111-148 to enforce the segregation of funds for abortion services.
Contacts regarding H.R.244, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017, in regards to funding of certain providers of abortion; no position taken on this legislation (but supported extension of all existing pro-life limitations and provisions from previous appropriations periods).
