H.J. Res. 76: Congressional Review Act resolution would disapprove of the rule submitted by the Department of Education relating to Borrower Defense Institutional Accountability.
S.J. Res. 56: Congressional Review Act resolution would disapprove of the rule submitted by the Department of Education relating to Borrower Defense Institutional Accountability.
S. 867 and H.R. 3512: The Preventing Risky Operations from Threatening the Education and Career Trajectories of Students Act of 2019 (PROTECT Students Act), the bill proposes to change the current 90/10 to 85/15 and count U.S. Department of Defense Tuition Assistance and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Post-9/11 GI Bill education assistance in the numerator.
H.R. 3487: The PRO Students Act sections on changing the current 90/10 rule to 85/15 and count veterans education benefits in the numerator; marketing restrictions; and establishment of an oversight committee specific to proprietary institutions; borrower defense.
H.R. 3369: a bill that changes the 90/10 rule to 80/20 and includes federal funds such as military tuition assistance and veteran education benefits.
S. 608 and H.R. 1430: The Court Legal Access and Student Support Act of 2019, would provide that chapter 1 of title 9 of the United States Code, relating to the enforcement of arbitration agreements, shall not apply to enrollment agreements made between students and certain institutions of higher education; and to prohibit limitations on the ability of students to pursue claims against certain institutions of higher education.
S. 839 and H.R. 3497: The Jumpstart Our Businesses by Supporting Students Act of 2019, would extend Federal Pell Grant eligibility of certain short-term programs. The bill would change the definition of Institution of Higher Education to include proprietary institutions.
S. 720 and H.R. 2833: CFPB Student Loan Integrity and Transparency Act of 2019, would require the student loan ombudsman of the Department of Education to provide student loan data to the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection, and for other purposes.
H.R. 3179: Protecting Our Students and Taxpayers Act of 2019, would amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 regarding proprietary institutions of higher education in order to protect students and taxpayers.
H.R. 4206: Student and Taxpayer Protection Act, would amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 to include requirements for programs of training to prepare students for gainful employment in a recognized occupation.
S. 3114: 90/10 Accountability for All Act, would require that all institutions of higher education participating in student financial assistance programs under title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 meet certain revenue requirements.
S. 2857: Protect Veterans Education and Taxpayer Spending Act of 2019, would amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 to count military and veterans education benefits as Federal educational assistance, and for other purposes.
