H.R.4939 - "Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act of Defense, The Global War on Terror, and Hurricane Recovery, 2006" - Making emergency supplemental appropriations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2006, and for other purposes - Title II--FURTHER HURRICANE DISASTER RELIEF AND RECOVERY-CHAPTER 1-United States Coast Guard. Lobbied members and staff of the House Appropriations committee and members and staff of the Senate Appropriations committee.
S.2507 - "National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2007" - An original bill to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2007 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes - Title XV. Lobbied members and staff of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
H.R.5122 - "John Warner National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2007" - Authorizes appropriations for FY2007 for the Army, Navy and Marine Corps, and Air Force for aircraft, missiles, weapons and tracked combat vehicles, ammunition, shipbuilding and conversion, and other procurement - Title XXXV: Maritime Administration - (Sec. 3501 - 3510). Lobbied members and staff of the House Armed Services committee.
H.R.5681 - "Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2006" - Authorizes appropriations for FY2007 for the Coast Guard for Coast Guard operation and maintenance and for other purposes. Title III: Shipping and Navigation (Sections 301-306, 308-327 & 332), Title V: MARPOL Annex VI Implementation. Lobbied members and staff of the House Transportation and Infrastructure committee and members and staff of the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation committee.
Met with maritime coalitions regarding issues American cabotage laws and ownership, building and crewing U.S.-flag vessels, dredging issues and trade agreements.
Met with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regarding the Jones and free trade.
Met with the International Trade Commission (ITC) regarding economic effects of significant U.S. import restraints.
Maritime Security Program: Worked with other U.S. maritime labor and industry interests to secure Democratic and Republican signatures on House and Senate "Dear Colleague" letters in support of the Maritime Security Program (MSP) for FY 2007.
Met with the Maritime Administration (MARAD) and Department of Transportation (DOT) staff members on various issues concerning the membership of American Maritime Officers.P.L.-480 Program, Title XI (Shipbuilding Loan Guarantees), Ship disposal and the Maritime Security Program.
Met with the United States Coast Guard on various issues concerning the membership of American Maritime Officers, mariner licensing and medical documentation, mariner and vessel protection, piracy and Great Lakes ice-breaking.
