Made contact related to the adverse economic circumstances for dairy farm families. Urged activation of the Dairy Export Incentive Program, use of TARP funds for farms to avoid foreclosure, administrative use of current farm bill to increase milk price supports and other administrative action to improve farm milk prices. Urged USDA to make a prompt payment of the Dairy Economic Loss Assistance Program (DELAP) to U.S. Farmers.
Recommended our organization's nominees for the year 2010 for consideration by USDA to appointments to the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board, the Cattlemen's Beef Promotion and Research Board and the USDA Dairy Advisory Committee.

H.R. 1799. A bill that would allow states to increase the size and weight limits allowed on interstate highways. It will also reduce the number of trucks on highways, wear and tear on our roadways and national fuel consumption. Additionally, emissions and the overall carbon footprint would be reduced.
