EDA supports the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, both Senate (S. 3042, The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018)and House(H.R.2, Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018) versions thereof.

EDA supported the previous passage the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (H.R.1). EDA continues to support the preservation of the Last In, First Out Accounting method, reduced personal and corporate tax rates, elimination of the "Death Tax". EDA is not aware of any pending bills related to these priorities at this time.
EDA supports the H.R. 4175 the Invest in Innovative Small Businesses Act. This bill would amend the internal revenue to allow a credit income for equity investments and addresses other small business concerns.

EDA supports the passage of H.R. 1101, the Small Business Health Fairness Act of 2017. This bill would allow small businesses to be exempt from certain healthcare obligations under the Affordable Care Act.
EDA supports the passage of H.R. 33 and S. 584, The Small Business Regulatory Flexibility Improvements Act of 2017. These bills would modify the rulemaking requirements to include initial and final regulatory analysis. This would increase small business participation in the regulatory process and would require agencies to consider the economic impact of proposed rules.
EDA supports the passage of H.R. 76, the Separation of Powers Restoration Act of 2017. This bill would modify the legal standard applied by judges to rules implemented by administrative agencies.

EDA support S. 577 the Providing Accountability Through Transparency Act of 2017. This bill requires each agency to provide a 100 word plain language summary of proposed rules to simplify the regulatory process and encourage citizen involvement.

EDA supports the implementation of trade agreements which level the playing field for U.S. companies who import and export goods.
EDA supports H.R. 442, the Cuba Trade Act of 2017. Opening the Cuban market would be beneficial to the equipment industry.
EDA support the re-negotiation of NAFTA and the modernizing of the agreement to incorporate successful aspects of more recent trade dealers. EDA supports the inclusion of provisions which would simply cross-boarder customs, integrating North American infrastructure and energy markets, protecting intellectual property and encouraging the permanent adoption and expansion of the Regulatory Cooperation Council.
