Support permanent repeal and replacement of the Medicare SGR including HR 2810 as well as supporting HR 574 the Medicare Physician Payment Innovation Act of 2013; Support payment reform to more accurately value cognitive care services; Opposing automatic sequestration cuts to Medicare provider payments; Supporting the Enhanced Access to Medicaid Services Act (HR 1838/ S 755) which adds neurology, psychiatry, and Ob/Gyn to the ACA Medicaid at Medicare rates provision;
Support for the preservation of the in-office ancillary exception to the stark law; Support for the Health Outcomes, Planning, and Education for Alzheimer's Act (S.709 /H.R.1507) which provides support for appropriate diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimers Disease; Sent a letter to CMS supporting their coverage decision regarding beta amyloid imaging along with some suggestions; Discuss stroke episode of care model with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation staff; Work with CMS to share concerns and offer an alternative proposal for the APC assignment of EMG and NCS codes in the 2014 OPPS proposed rule; Submitted comments to CMS on the 2014 MPFS and 2014 OPPS proposed rules; Advocated for improvements to complex chronic care coordination codes proposal; Participated on refinement panel to argue for higher work RVUs for EMG and NCS codes.
