Lobbying to improve the health and wellbeing of veterans through legislation including the Deborah Sampson Act (S.514), to improve Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) programs and services for women veterans; the Veterans Expedited TSA Screening (VETS) Safe Travel Act (H.R. 3356, S. 1881) to provide TSA Pre-Check to veterans with disabilities; the Modernizing Veterans Healthcare Eligibility Act (H.R. 7469), to establish an advisory commission regarding VA health care eligibility; the Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, M.D. Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act (H.R. 7105), to improve care for women veterans and veterans exposed to toxic materials while in service, and to improve VA life insurance benefits; the Improving VA Accountability to Prevent Sexual Harassment Act (draft), to realign VAs Equal Employment Opportunity Director and Program Managers, impose mandatory sexual harassment training, and review VA sexual harassment policies and directives; the Major Richard Star Act (H.R. 5995), to allow for concurrent receipt of VA disability and DoD retirement pay; the Veteran Families Financial Support Act (H.R. 6013), to modernize service-disabled veterans insurance; the TEAM Act (S. 4393), to improve the provision of VA health care and other benefits for veterans who were exposed to toxic substances; and the Ensuring Veterans Access Act (H.R. 7926), to allow for the electronic request of certain records.
