H.R. 5240, the Biodiesel Tax Incentive Reform and Extension Act of 2016 - Bill extend the $1-per-gallon tax credit for biodiesel through the end of 2019, and reform the credit from a blenders credit to a producers credit for fuel using U.S. commodities.
Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS)- U.S. Environmental Protection Agencys (EPA) proposed a target of 14.8 billion gallons of conventional ethanol to be blended into fuel for 2017, slightly shy of the 15 billion gallons that are required for the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). In response to EPAs proposal, Sens. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) and Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) are circulating a letter for signatures to EPA Administrator McCarthy, encouraging EPA to adhere to the statutory standards set by Congress in the RFS.

S. 764, Amendment 4935 - Bill to establish mandatory labeling of food derived from biotechnology, protect future biotechnology, narrow definition of biotech, meat exemptions, and protection of interstate commerce.
Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD)- A bill has been drafted by Rep. Jason Smith (R-Mo.) that calls for repeal of the final Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD) ruleFeed Directive (VFD) rule published June 3, 2015 in the Federal Register.
Ag Innovation - Newhouse-Schrader Letter to USDA - In February, USDA announced to the public, through a 14-page notice of intent in the Federal Register, its plan to completely re-write the United States pre-market biotechnology regulatory framework called Part 340. In response, Reps. Dan Newhouse (R-Wash.) and Kurt Schrader (D-Ore.) are circulating a letter for signatures to USDA concerning the proposed Part 340 revisions.

H.R. 935, Zika Vector Control Act of 2015 - Clarifies Congressional intent regarding regulation of the use of pesticides for control of exotic diseases such as Zika virus and West Nile virus, as well as for other lawful uses in or near navigable waters.
Oversight of EPA Funding for Grassroots Lobbying - Congressman Newhouse (R-Wash.) and Congressman Ashford (D-Neb.) letter to Administrator McCarthy expressing extreme concern about the disturbing trend with EPA funding lobbying activities.

H.R. 5485, FY 17 Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act - An amendment to allow private financing of agricultural sales to Cuba is being offered to the FY 17 Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act (H.R.5485). This amendment will prohibit funds from being used to implement, administer and enforce the requirement for cash only sales to Cuba for agricultural commodities.

S. 2595 and H.R. 4626,the Building Rail Access for Customers and the Economy Act (BRACE Act) - Included in the 40 some tax provisions that expire at the end of 2016 is the 50 percent railroad track maintenance tax credit for short line and regional railroads. This credit is sometimes referred to as the 45G tax credit. Legislation makes credit permanent.
