S 3240, Agriculture Reform, Food and Jobs Act - NETWORK urges inclusion og demonstration progrms providing incentives to SNAP participants to purchase healthy, locally grown produce; NETWORK strongly opposes amendments such as SA2171 which
deny food to eligible people who are unable to produce documentation. This affects more than the immigrant population; urges
Congress to base reauthorization on faithful principles that reduce hunger and poverty in the U.S.; supports Gillibrand amendment
H.R.5973/S.2375, Agricultural Appropriations for 2013 - NETWORK has serous concern for funding cuts made to the Rural Housing Service programs; concerns about Congressional efforts to intervene in determining what foods are eligible for SNAP and WIC
NETWORK supports efforts of the U.S. government to adopt certain principles as it partners with the private sector for increasing food and nutrition secuity.

H.R. 4966, H.R. 5652 Sequester Replacement Reconciliation Act of 2012 - NETWORK strongly opposes these bills which would
place the burden of reducing the deficit on the backs of persons who can least afford it, we urge Congress to find savings sources
other than domestic discretionary programs - and suggests far deeper cuts in defense, rather than increases.
H.R. 5326, Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2013 - NETWORK strongly opposes the elimination of the Census Bureau's American Community Survey which allows for transparency and for the ability to meet the
needs of Americans through wise allocation resources, to monitor the economic recover and meet constituional obligaion to conduct an accurate census in 2020.
NETWORK strongly urges the House and the Senate to increase revenue, and cut military spending sufficiently to cover the
costs of domestic discretionary programs without their being cut. Priority must be given to the most vulnerable populations in federal budget decisions.
H.Con.Res 34 - NETWORK strongly and vocally opposes the House passed FY2013 Budget, and any portion of it becoming
a part of other legislation, as it would destroy the social safety net dehying the meeting of needs of those on the margins
of society, struggling to survive. NETWORK is particularly concerned that Rep. Ryan justifies his destruction of the safety net by Catholic Social Teaching, as it is just the opposite.
H.R. 5857, FY 2013 State and Foreign Operatoins Appropriations - NETWORK urges Congress to pass a Faithful Budget that increases funding above the FY2012 levels for poverty-focused international development and humanitarian assistance and global health programs.
NETWORK shared great concern about the high rates of unemployment and underemployment, particularly aware of the relationship between cuts in spending (eliminating public sector jobs) and the unemployment rate fluctuations.
H.R.3630 UI/Payroll Tax cut extension - NETWORK supports this bill, as a temporary means of assisting the long-term unemployed. We would oppose any long-term reduction in Payroll Tax cuts.

H.R.5647, Pregnant Workers Fairness Act - NETWORK supports this billwhoud would allow women to continue to work, with reasonable adjustments to the job responsibilities. This would reduce discrimination against women in the workplace.
S. 1670, End Racial Profiling Act of 2011 - NETORK strongly supports thie acto to end racial profiling by law enforcement officials
S. 1925 Re-authorization of the Violence Against Women Act - NETWORK supports this act
H.R.4970 Violence Against Women Act - NETWORK opposes this act, as it threatens to rollback protections for immigrant women and children who are victims of abuse.
H.R. 4271 Violence Against Women Act - NETWORK supports this bill by Rep. Moore allows every woman in this country full access to the protection granted under a true Violence Against Women Act.

H.R.1540 : National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 - NETWORK strongly opposes the provision to slow troop withdrawal from Afghanistan, and urges resistance to growing militarization of U.S. aid and policy towards Africa.
NETWORK strongly urges transparency regarding remotely piloted aircraft, specifically "signature" strikes.
NETWORK urges the administration to negotiate a robust, bullet-proof Arms Trade Treaty in July.
NETWORK encourages the administration to make a decision on future U.S. landmine policy as soon as possible and to accede to the 1997 Mine Ban Treaty

Affordable Housing and Self-Sufficiency Improvement Act - proposed in the House - NETWORK strongly urges two changes:
- retain the discretion of individual public housing agencies to set a minimum rent below the federal cap
- reform the hardship exemption to protect vulnerable households from losing their housing if they cannot pay the increased
minimum rent.

S.952/H.R.1842 : Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act of 2011 - NETWORK continues to strongly support passage of this version of the DREAM Act.
NETWORK strongly opposes proposals which would weaken the DREAM Act, denying a path to eventual citizenship.
NETWORK strongly urges the President to enforce more transparency of the actions of the Border Patril and other CBP agents as they regularly violate human and civil rights of those who call the border region home.
H.R. 1970/S1925, Violence Against Women Act - NETWORK seriously opposes the House bill as it is dangerous for immigrant women and their families; and urges bith the House and the Senate to pass VAWA legislation which is free of all other unrelated immigraiton measures, and asks for removal of the provision creating a new "aggravated felony" for purposes of mandatory immigration removal.
H.R.5326/S2323 FY2013 Commerce, Justice and ScienceAppropriations Act - NETWORK strongly opposes the harmful immigration amendments to the appropriations bill.
