Monitored health care legislation as it relates to repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act.
Monitored legislation introduced by Congressman Walden that would continue coverage of pre-existing conditions should the ACA be repealed. OFB did not led their support or opposition to any 2018 repeal efforts.
Also, tracked repeal of the the HIT (tax), HR 246 which would repeat part of the ACA that levies a tax on insurance companies net premiums. Farmers and ranchers have two major concerns related to health insurance: cost and access. The Health Insurance Tax (HIT Tax) increases health insurance costs for farmers and ranchers and other small businesses by taxing the net premiums of health insurance companies. The companies then pass this cost on to consumers who obtain their health insurance through the fully insured market.
