on behalf of ending the remaining offset provisions for military retired pay and VA Service Connected disabilities including HR 303,HR333,S234; in support of the fully funded commissary benefit; improving the NG&R benefits HR690 S240 correct retirement deployment credits to cross 2 fiscal years, TRICARE for NG&R retirees at 60 HR738 SBP benefits; in support of service members and retirees families and survivors including in support of ending the SBP/DIC offset HR32, S734, allowing SBP payments to be deposited directly into a Special Needs Trust (SNT) for permanently disabled beneficiaries

lobbying to urge the improvement of healthcare provided to veterans including an end to crippling wait and fraudulent reports of wait times throughout the country in favor of referring veterans to the civilian sector when backlog for care is too long; granting the VA Secretary the power to discipline and fire senior management when appropriate; in favor of additional appropriations to hire more direct care personnel; continue to work on shrinking the disability adjudication backlog; in favor of hiring more mental health professionals as well as contracting in the private sector HR2540; in favor of enlarging the present referral program to include primary health care; to improve rural health care S1155; improving the VA education programs including requiring states to charge in state tuition for students using the Post 9/11 GI Bill and qualifying surviving spouses of those who died in the line of duty for the Fry Scholarship S 1982 S1039; increasing the DIC payment to be equivalent to other federal survivor programs; granting veterans status for 20 year retirees from the National Guard and Reserves; calling for the Blue Water Navy from the Vietnam War to qualify for certain medical presumptions as well as granting them a proper accounting of where they served HR1494; and improvements of the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act S1399
