S.4 Rebuild America Act Create jobs and support businesses while improving the nation's global competitiveness by modernizing TCU supports the bill because it is good for working families and the future of our country. S.204 A bill to preserve and protect the free choice of individual employees to form, join, or assist labor organizations, or to refrain from such activities. This Act may be cited as the ''National Right-to-Work Act''. TCU Opposes the Budget Instead, the plan written by Budget Committee Chairman
Paul Ryan which passed on a 221-207 party-line vote would reduce spending on the Medicaid health care plan for the poor and eliminate "Obamacare" subsidies. It exempts the Pentagon and Social Security beneficiaries from spending cuts but revives a plan to turn Medicare into a voucher-like system for beneficiaries born in 1959 or later. H.RES.15 Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the Transportation Security Administration should, in accordance with existing law, enhance security against terrorist attack and other security threats to our Nation's rail and mass transit systems and other modes of surface transportation; and for other purposes. TCU supports the bill to keep our country safe. H.R.152 Disaster Relief Appropriations Act, 2013 Makes supplemental appropriations for FY2013 to specified federal agencies and programs for expenses related to the consequences of Hurricane Sandy. TCU supports because it provides needed relief to the distressed transportation systems in the Northeast. H.R.933 Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2013 Appropriates funds for FY2013 for active-duty and reserve personnel in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force (the military departments), and for National Guard personnel in the Army and Air Force. TCU supports the bill to keep the government running through FY 2013. The Bill funds MAP 21 (Commuter Rail and Transit) and it restores student enrollments to the Job Corp program. H.R.946 National Right-to-Work Act Amends the National Labor Relations Act and the Railway Labor Act to repeal those provisions that permit employers, pursuant to a collective bargaining agreement that is a union security agreement, to require employees to join a union as a condition of employment (including provisions permitting railroad carriers to require, pursuant to such an agreement, payroll deduction of union dues or fees as a condition of employment). TCU opposes the bill as it is designed to depress workers wages and take away a basic right for workers to join a union. H.R.949 Invest in American Jobs Act of Invest in American Jobs Act of 2013 - Revises Buy American requirements with respect to federal-aid highways, capital investment grants to support intercity passenger rail service (rail grants), and Amtrak, particularly the handling of waiver requests. TCU supports the bill to create American jobs and build a better passenger rail system in the US. H.R.1120 Preventing Greater Uncertainty in Labor-Management Relations Act Requires the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to cease all activity that requires a quorum of Board members. Prohibits the Board from implementing, administering, or enforcing any decision, rule, vote, or other action decided, undertaken, adopted, issued, or finalized on or after January 4, 2012, that requires a quorum of the Board members. TCU opposes the bill because it gives management the upper hand at the workplace and takes workers rights away. H.R.3 Northern Route Approval Act Declares that a presidential permit shall not be required for the pipeline described in the application filed on May 4, 2012, by TransCanada Keystone Pipeline, L.P. to the Department of State for the Keystone XL pipeline, including the Nebraska reroute evaluated in the Final Evaluation Report issued by the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality in January 2013 and approved by the Nebraska governor. TCU supports the Bill as it would create badly needed jobs. TCU supports this bill as it creates jobs. H.R.1539 Northeast Corridor Rail Tunnel Safety Act Authorizes appropriations to the Secretary of Transportation (DOT) for Amtrak use, after the Secretary has received and approved a project engineering and financial plan, to complete New York tunnel life safety projects and to rehabilitate tunnels in Washington, DC, and Baltimore, Maryland.
