H.R. 2754 Textile Enforcement and Security Act of 2011 evaluate impact of legislation on member companies; Support S. 704 and H.R. 2071 The United States Optimal Use of Trade to Develop Outerwear and Outdoor Recreation with the goal of reducing tariffs on recreational performance outerwear. Support S. 1069 the Affordable Footwear Act-- reducing tariffs on footwear in outdoor recreational pursuits.
Support S. 968 - Preventing Real Online Threats to Economic Creativity and Theft of Intellectual Property Act with the goal of strengthening laws to prevent online counterfeiting of products.
Engage with USTR to discuss priorities for treatment of textiles and apparel during upcoming Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement negotiations. Attend TPP negotiations in Chicago, representing the outdoor industry. Encouraged the Integratation of textile and apparel products into the Market Access negotiations, with no separate chapter or separate provisions.

OIA supported funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund, Forest Service Recreation programs, National Park Service and BLM trails budgets. Support full funding for the Land and Water and Conservation Fund through support for S. 1265: Land and Water Conservation Authorization and Funding Act of 2011.

Continue to speak to members of Congress in support of tenants of America's Great Outdoors Act, including importance of supporting close to home trails and parks.
