Continue discussion of possible changes in future funding of TCU endowment and additional amendments affecting other TCU land-grant programs to be addressed in the 2012 reauthorization of the Farm Bill. In S. 1262: Native CLASS Act, sought amendments to add three new institutions to the list of 1994 (TCU) Land Grant institutions and update the list to include individual institutions formal name changes.

Support for S.952: Dream Act; discussions regarding a future 'BUILD Act' affecting Indian Education and Native Language and Culture Preservation. S. 1262-Native CLASS Act, inclusion of amends affecting TCUs programs and existing laws
changes sought include: (1) increased participation of TCUs in the DoEd American Indian Teacher and Administrators training program as part of the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA); (2) amendments to the Workforce Investment Act reauthorization to include funding for TCUs from existing funds to help TCUs to continue to provide much in demand adult basic education and literacy programs to their reservation communities; and (3) inclusion of Native language vitalization and training programs at TCUs.
