Fiscal Year 2018 Budget Resolution (H. Con. Res. 71). Provisions relating to repeal of the Affordable Care Acts impact on Medicare and Medicaid, privatizing Medicare, raising the Medicare eligibility age, and establishing a reserve fund for importation of prescription drugs.
Tax Cut and Jobs Act (H.R. 1, P.L. 115-97). Provisions relating to the impact on Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and other programs on which older Americans rely.
Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2018 (H.R. 3358, S. 1771). Proposals pertaining to funding the Social Security Administration operating budget, the National Institutes of Health research on Alzheimers disease and hearing loss, the State Health Insurance Assistance Program, and the Administration for Community Livings Older Americans Act programs, including the Lifespan Respite Care Program and National Family Caregiver Support Program.
Sequestration (No bill). Proposals relating to easing budget spending caps created by the Budget Control Act (P.L. 112-25) with implications for programs for older Americans funded by discretionary spending.

2018 Medicare Open Enrollment (No bill). The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrations public outreach and education around the 2018 Medicare open enrollment.
Childrens Health Insurance Program (H.R. 3921, H. R. 3922). Proposals pertaining to funding for the CHIP program and to increasing income-related Medicare premiums.
Beneficiary Enrollment Notification and Eligibility Simplification Act (S. 1909, H. R. 2575). Proposals to improve Medicare Part B enrollment and to align Part B, Medicare Advantage and Part D rules.
Medicare Beneficiary Opioid Addiction Treatment Act (H.R. 4097). Proposal to provide coverage of methadone under Medicare Part B.
Patient Choice and Quality Care Act of 2017 (S. 1334, H. R. 2797). Proposal to enhance care for Medicare beneficiaries with advanced illness or nearing the end of life.
Medicare Privatization (No bill). Proposals to transform traditional Medicare into a private insurance carrier program.

Proposal to have the Department of Health and Human Services implement the final rule on Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act which protects against discrimination based on age, race, color, national origin, limited English proficiency, disability or sex.
National Survey of Older Americans Act Participants (No bill). Proposal to have the Administration for Community Living reinstate a demographic question on gender identity.
Money Follows the Person (No bill). Proposal to reauthorize a demonstration that provides funding and support for states to transition individuals living in
institutional care settings into settings that are more integrated with their communities.

Adopting Rules for the 115th Congress (H. Res. 5). Provision creating a point of order to legislation reallocating funds from the Social Security Old Age and Survivors Insurance (OASI) Trust Fund to the Disability Insurance Trust Fund.
Cost of Living Adjustment Relief (H.R. 1251, CPI-E Act of 2017; H.R. 1902, Social Security 2100 Act; H.R. 2855, Social Security for Future Generations Act of 2017; H.R. 2896, the Fair COLA for Seniors Act of 2017). Proposals to adopt the Consumer Price Index for the Elderly (CPI-E) for the purpose of determining cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) for Social Security beneficiaries.
Social Security Expansion (H.R. 1902, Social Security 2100 Act; H.R. 1114/S. 427, Social Security Expansion Act; H.R. 2855, Social Security for Future Generations Act of 2017). Proposals to improve benefits and to strengthen Social Security's financing by altering the payroll tax cap, among other changes.
Caregiver Social Security Credits (No bill). Proposals to provide Social Security wage credits for individuals who reduce their participation in the workforce or leave the workforce to provide care to specified family members and relatives.
Social Security Commission (H.R. 3423, Social Security Commission Act). Proposal to require a commission to make recommendations for achieving solvency of the Social Security trust funds for 75 years.
Social Security Reform (No bill). Proposals to achieve solvency of the Social Security trust fund by cutting benefits.
Supplemental Security Income (H.R. 3307, Supplemental Security Income Restoration Act). Proposal to update provisions in the SSI program to reflect inflation since 1972 and to increase the asset limit to $10,000 for an individual and $15,000 for a couple.
Government Pension Offset and Windfall Elimination Provision (H.R. 1205, Social Security Fairness Act of 2017). Proposal to repeal the Government Pension Offset and Windfall Elimination Provision.
Access to Social Security Administration Online Services (No bill). Pertaining to SSAs administrative decision to require individuals who have "mySocialSecurity" accounts to receive a code on a cell phone capable of receiving a text message in order to be able to log into their account.
Social Security Benefit Statement (No bill). Efforts to have the Social Security Administration resume annual distribution of benefit statements to eligible individuals.
Protecting Seniors from Garnishment (S. 959, the Protection of Social Security Benefits Restoration Act). Proposals to protect Social Security beneficiaries from having their Social Security benefits garnished to recover unpaid student loans.
Department of Labor Retirement Advisor Fiduciary Rule (H.R. 355, Protecting American Families Retirement Advice Act). Provisions delaying for two years the effective date of the Department of Labor rule published on April 8, 2016, relating to the definition of the term "fiduciary" and the conflict of interest rule with respect to retirement investment advice.
Disability Adjudication (No bill). Comments on regulatory proposals to alter the rules regarding the evaluation of medical evidence for the purpose of adjudicating claims for both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income disability benefits.
Prohibit Payment of Social Security and Supplemental Security Insurance Benefits (H.R. 2792, the Control Unlawful Fugitive Felons Act of 2017). Proposal to bar payment of benefits for seniors with outstanding warrants for their arrest.
Improvements to the Representative Payee System (H.R. 4547, the Strengthening Protections for Social Security Beneficiaries Act of 2017). Proposal to provide greater safeguards for vulnerable Social Security beneficiaries whose benefits are managed by Representative payees.
