On February 3, the Center for Inquiry met with the office of Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) to discuss support for House Resolution 396, which demands that Bangladesh affirm its secular constitution, protect minority communities, and guarantee human rights for all.
On February 19, the Center for Inquiry joined 37 organizations and more than 70 religious leaders and human rights advocates in urging the U.S. Department of State to formally declare the Islamic States (ISIS) systematic destruction of ancient religious minority communities in Iraq and Syria to be genocide.
On February 26, the Center for Inquiry and its members messaged the U.S. House of Representatives to urge members to support House Resolution 396, sponsored by Rep. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), respectively, which "[express] support for the designation of February 12, 2016, as Darwin Day, and recognizing the importance of science in the betterment of humanity."
