Graduate Medical Education (GME): (1) Sent a letter to the CMS Administrator with other healthcare organizations asking to finalize certain methodology in the FY 2022 Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) proposed rule, with modifications, and increase the number of full time equivalent (FTE) slots awarded per hospital for FY 2023 and all succeeding years. (2) Sent letter with other healthcare organizations asking to support the physician workforce in the upcoming infrastructure package by increasing the number of GME positions.
Accountable Care Organizations (ACO): (1) Sent a letter of support to bill sponsors of the Accountable Care In Rural America Act (H.R. 3746), which amends title XVIII of the Social Security Act to improve the benchmarking process for the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) to ensure that all ACOs have an equal opportunity to share in savings regardless of their geographic location. (2) Sent a letter to HHS urging to extend Next Gen ACOs through 2022.
CMS Administrator: Sent a letter welcoming Administrator Brooks-LaSure to CMS and outlining several MGMA administrative priorities for the year.
CMMI: Sent a letter to CMMI Administrator Fowler welcoming her to CMMI and outlining recommendations for Alternative Payment Models (APMs).
MSSP: Sent letter to HHS asking to delay mandatory MSSP quality reporting changes.
Medicare reimbursement cuts: Sent a letter to Congress urging them to address FY 2022 Medicare cuts in the infrastructure package.
Telehealth: Submitted testimony on telehealth expansion for both the W&M and E&C Committee hearings regarding telehealth.
Step Therapy: Sent a letter to CMS urging for reinstatement of the step therapy prohibition on Part B drugs in MA plans.
