Support provision in H.R.1777, to make technical corrections to the Higher Education Act of 1965, regarding Experimental Sites program,
H.R. 1137 Athletic Trainers' Equal Access to Medicare Act of 2009 regarding athletic trainers being authorized to receive Medicare payments.
Sought assistance in securing meeting with the White House for the KU students who won the 2009 National Debate Tournament.
Sought assistance in securing meeting with Executive Office staff for small group of KU graduate students
Sought meeting with Office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation for KU Center of Service Learning to describe new service learning project.
Provided input to joint higher education coaliton letter to Congress and Education Department regarding higher education regulations, comments related to exempting Foundation/Endowment Loans from the 'private preferred lender' definitions and requirements, reinstitute established and successful Experimental Sites and provide administrative cost allowance to institutions for all federal programs administered by the institution (e.g. currently institutions may only receive administrative cost allowance for the campus-based aid programs such as FWS, Perkins and SEOG, in addition to the minimal Pell allowance). If no administrative cost allowance, fold all grant programs into Pell, which is much less administratively burdensome than TEACH, ACG & SMART Grants.

Recovery Act, University of Kansas endorsed a higher education letter to the White House commending the Administrations commitment to advancing much-needed investments in research, science and engineering. The letter calls the efforts critical to maintaining the nations global edge in technology and innovation," and supports increased research funding in the FY10 budget cycle.
Requested support for increased funding for Title VII funding for medical education
S.CON.RES.13 An original concurrent resolution setting forth the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2010, revising the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal year 2009, and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2011 through 2014 related to reconciliation instructions for federal higher education funding; federal research funding levels.
Unnumbered Bill for FY2010 Department of Transporation Appropriation. Requested investment for engine test lab equipment to conduct alternative energy research.
Unnumber Bill for FY2010 Department of Defense Appropriations. Supported joint research project funding request for quantum computing.
