BASF supports provisions in energy legislation requiring improvements in building codes and incentives for green building and building efficiencies, as well as energy efficiency tax incentives (45L, 179D, 45Q).
Energy infrastructure permitting reform (Energy Independence and Security Act no bill number and S. 4815 - START Act). BASF supports permitting reform legislation that, while protecting the environment, would allow timely consideration of infrastructure projects (transmission lines, pipelines, etc.) needed to meet clean energy goals.

Tax Code revisions (H.R.5376 - Inflation Reduction Act of 2022). BASF is concerned by proposals to increase corporate rates and otherwise revise the tax code and believes that there are alternative means available to fund infrastructure improvements and other important spending programs. (H.R.5371/S.1077 - Permanently Preserving America's Investment in Manufacturing Act.) BASF also supports a permanent change to the tax code that allows full deduction of interest for capital investments.
