Continued to support development of a new farm bill which adheres to the following principals:
Protects current farm bill spending.
Maintains a unified farm bill that includes nutrition programs and farm programs together.
Ensures that any changes to current farm legislation be amendments either to the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1938 or the Agricultural Act of 1949.
Prioritize sour top funding priorities - particularly risk management tools, which include both federal crop insurance and Title I commodity programs.
Ensures programs are compliant with the World Trade Organization agreements.

Continued to advocate for the continuation of U.S. involvement in NAFTA and KORUS as they represent significant markets for U.S. agriculture. We also opposed the administrations efforts to enact tariffs on foreign steel and aluminum as well as additional tariffs on Chinese goods. Lastly, we continued to support efforts for the U.S. to rejoin the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

Supported H.R. 1625, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2018 as it included language from S. 2421, the Fair Agricultural Reporting Method Act (FARM Act) and H.R. 5275, the Agricultural Certainty for Reporting Emissions Act, which amended the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 to exempt livestock producers from having to report emissions from animal waste; language to fix the COOP provisions of the new Section 199A of the federal tax code; a one year delay for livestock haulers from federal Electronic Logging Device requirements; additional money to expand rural broadband coverage; and an exemption for producers from having to obtain SAMS/DUNS numbers in order to get federal conservation program dollars.
