In support of H.R. 1355 - 119th Congress (2025-2026): Weatherization Enhancement and Readiness Act of 2025.
Purpose: To amend the Energy Conservation and Production Act to reauthorize the Weatherization Assistance Program, direct the Secretary of Energy to establish a weatherization readiness program, and for other purposes.
Key Provisions:
Increases the average cost per dwelling unit for weatherization from $6,500 to $12,000.
Clarifies limitations on reweatherization to prevent duplication of federal assistance.
Establishes a Weatherization Readiness Program to prepare homes for energy efficiency improvements.

Key Provisions:
Eligibility Criteria:
Entered the U.S. before age 18.
Continuously present in the U.S. for at least four years prior to enactment.
Not inadmissible on certain grounds (e.g., criminal or security-related).
Meets educational requirements (e.g., high school diploma or equivalent).
Conditional Permanent Resident Status:
Allows eligible individuals to apply for conditional lawful permanent resident status.
Conditions can be removed upon meeting further requirements, such as:
Earning a degree from a U.S. institution of higher education.
Completing at least two years in a bachelor's or higher degree program.
Serving honorably in the U.S. military for at least two years.
Protections:
Prohibits the use of information provided in applications for immigration enforcement purposes.
In support of American Dream and Promise Act of 2023 (H.R.16)
Purpose: This bill aims to provide a pathway to lawful permanent resident (LPR) status for certain undocumented immigrants, including:
Individuals who entered the U.S. as minors and meet specific criteria.
Recipients of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
Individuals with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) or Deferred Enforced Departure (DED).
Key Provisions:
Conditional Permanent Resident Status: Eligible individuals can obtain this status for 10 years if they:
Entered the U.S. before age 18.
Have been continuously present in the U.S. since before January 1, 2021.
Meet educational or military service requirements.
Pass background checks and pay applicable fees.
Adjustment to Lawful Permanent Resident Status: After meeting additional criteria, such as completing higher education, military service, or consistent employment, individuals can apply for full LPR status.
Protections for TPS and DED Holders: The bill provides a pathway to LPR status for individuals who:
Have been in the U.S. for at least three years as of the bill's enactment.
Were eligible for TPS on September 17, 2017, or had DED status on January 20, 2021.
