Also, apprpriations for the Wildlife Services Program was discussed.
Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Reauthorization Act of 2007 (HR 17 and S 380) was discussed. OFB requested that AFBF include in a Public Policy Bulletin to the AFBF membership notice of a "Dear Colleague" letter supporting county timber payments. We also made a personal request to the California Farm Bureau Federation and the Washington Farm
Bureau Federation. Acitively supported our congressional delegation on 1 year extension.
Contacted congressional delegation securing their support for H.R. 2419 and H.R. 6124 (2nd version).

H.R. 2421 and S.1870, the Clean Water Restoration Act of 2007 has been discussed regarding Oregon Farm Bureau's opposition to the legislation. OFBF signed onto to Oregon natural resources industry letter to Congressman Wu, Congressman Blumenauer, Congressman DeFazio, Congresswoman Hooley and Senator Wyden about the damaging effect this legisation would have to the industry. Opposed Lieberman-Warner Climate Security Act (S. 2191)

Estate Tax legislation, H.R. 2380 was supported by the Oregon Farm Bureau Federation. The general issue of estate tax reform is regularly discussed at meetings. Also, OFBF supports the concept of permanently adjusting the alternative minimum tax for inflation.
