Advocacy supporting legislation to improve health insurance choices for veterans under age 65 who qualify for TRICARE and Medicare, including the HEARTS ACT(H.R. 2243/S. 1461); recognizing the service of Post-9/11 veterans, including the Global War on Terrorism War Memorial Act (H.R. 873/S.926); to improve female-focused care at VA, including the Deborah Sampson Act (H.R. 2452/S. 681); to improve caregiver support programs at VA, including the Military and Veteran Caregiver Services Improvement Act (H.R. 1472/S.591); to improve Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits, including the Harry Colmery Veterans Educational Assistance Act (S.1598); to prevent discriminatory practices against the disabled on aircrafts, including the Air Carriers Access Amendments Act (S.1318); to improve veteran treatment courts, including the Veterans Treatment Court Improvement Act (S. 946); to temporarily extend the Assisted Living for Veterans with Traumatic Brain Injury (AL-TBI) pilot program, including the VA Expiring Authorities Act (S. 3819).
