FY 2009 appropriations bill for the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education. this is the bill that funds all of the Protection and Advocacy (P&A) programs and the Client Assistance Program (CAP). FY 2009 appropriations bill for the Department of Housing and Urban Development. This is the bill that funds disability housing programs. FY 2009 Homeland Security Appropriations bill with emphasis on emergency prepardness for people with disabilities.

Work undertakend to refine and clarify the definition of disability in the effort to put the end to negative Supreme Court Decisions. H.R. 3995 -- to protect the interests of each resident of intermediate care facilities for the mentatlly retarded in class action lawsuits on behalf of each resident. Efforts in opposition to this bill which would impinge on the rights of individuals with intellectual disabilties

REstraint and Seclusion issues related to children with disabilities in a variety of school settings. The Stop Child Abuse in Residential Programs for Teens Act of 2008 (H.R. 5876). The bill is designed to protect teenswho are sent to a variety of residential placements. It includes language requiring reporting to the P&As and limits on the use of restraint and seclusion.

Juvenile Justice and Delinquincy Prevention Reauthorization Act of 2008 (S. 3155). This bill would reauthorize juvenile justice programs. Our efforts focused on additional services and supports for juveniles with disabilities and on the creation of a P&A program focussed on juvenile justice issues.
