--H.R.6491, E-BRIDGE Act, this bill authorizes the Department of Commerce to award economic development grants for public-private partnerships and certain consortiums to carry out specified broadband projects.
--H.R.7302, Accessible, Affordable Internet for All Act, this bill provides $100 billion for building high-speed broadband infrastructure in underserved as well as unserved communities and subsidize the service to make it affordable. It establishes the Broadband Infrastructure Finance Innovation Act (BIFIA), financing for public-private partnerships to apply for secured loans, lines of credit, or loan guarantees.
--H.R.7095, INVEST in America Act, this bill reauthorizes our nations highway, transit, and rail programs for 5 years at a total funding level of $494 billion. Provides substantial funding increases for all surface transportation programs including, 27 percent increase in highway funding, a 54 percent increase in mass transit funding, and a 332 percent increase intercity passenger rail funding. Delays new programs and new requirements for the first year of enactment to address the DOTs need for COVID-19 relief. Provisions strengthening existing Buy American policy and eliminating state federal aid fund swaps to evade prevailing wage.
