Support for the inclusion of higher education priorities in the budget, budget reconciliation efforts (H.R.5376 - Inflation Reduction Act, and similar Senate efforts), and FY23 appropriations legislation including efforts to expand the Pell Grant and increase the federal award amount, support for additional funding for federal research and research infrastructure. Continued support for including additional higher education funding, student mental health and academic success priorities in the budget and appropriations legislation. Support for the UW System's 2022 Federal Priorities including increased funding for: the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Estuarine Research Reserve, the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Capacity Building Grants for Non-Land Grant Colleges of Agriculture, and the Pell Grant Program, including allowing "DREAMers" to have access to the Pell Grant. Support for federal financial aid programs including: the Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, TRIO, GEAR UP, and the Pell Grant Program. Support for water sciences research, the Freshwater Collaborative of Wisconsin, and additional cybersecurity research and development. Support for increased STEM and water research funding via the FY23 appropriations process. Support of the CHIPS Act of 2022 (H.R. 4346), including support for the Small Business Innovation Research Program Reauthorization via this or other legislation.
