WOTUS Rule by EPA - The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers sought public comments on a proposed rulemaking that will vastly expand the federal jurisdictional of the Clean Water Act. If finalized, many ditches, farm ponds, waterways, erosion control features, and adjacent wetland areas could be interpreted to be waters of the United States and therefore regulated by the EPA and Corps of Engineers. Texas Farm Bureau seeks to have EPA and the Corps of Engineers withdraw this damaging and extremely unpopular rule.

16. Specific lobbying issues
TFB opposed S.J. Res 28 which would overturn statutorily required imported catfish inspection by the United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety Inspection Service. Instead it would transfer inspection to the Food and Drug Administration. Keeping the inspection with FSIS provides more safety to consumers and helps protect domestic production from a devastating loss of finding adulterated fish on dinner tables. TFB also opposed the misuse of the Congressional Review Act to circumvent Congressional Intent.
