S. 601- "Water Resources Development Act" - authorizes the Army Corps of Engineers to dredge harbors and channels and construct water projects for mitigating storm damage restoring ecosystems, and reducing erosion on inland and intracoastal waterways. The legislation also would authorize the agency to establish grant programs to assist local and state governments with levee safety and rehabilitation programs.
H.R. 4310- " Defense Authorization Bill, which set a defense budget and authorized spending for the Maritime Administration and for defense sealift programs. The legislation included language extending the Maritime Security Program at the current 60-ship level through 2025.
H.R. 6083- "Federal Agriculture Reform and Risk Management Act of 2012- A bill to provide for the reform and continuation of agricultural and other programs of the Department of Agriculture through fiscal year 2017, and for other purposes.
Legislation to make administrative Jones Act waivers more difficult to obtain and separate legislation extending all current federal laws to the Outer Continental Shelf.
Met with maritime industry coalitions on numerous occasions regarding the issues of Cargo Preference requirements, Piracy, P.L.480 (Food aid export program), Harbor Maintenance Tax, and Jones Act waivers.
