Support reinstatement of Country of Origin Labeling for Beef; rules to implement the Packers and Stockyards Act; legislation to prohibit packer ownership of livestock and require all contracts to contain a firm base price; enforcement of antitrust laws; strengthening of measures to prevent introduction of foreign animal diseases; improvement of mandatory price reporting; reform of beef checkoff program; reform of trade policies to reflect the supply sensitive nature of the U.S. cattle industry; investigation into 2015 cattle price collapse; and, oppose any expansion of the animal disease traceability rule.

Oppose the TPP and support the renegotiation of NAFTA and other trade agreements. This includes changing the standard for determining the origins of meat shipped in international commerce. Support a requirement that the origin be the country where the animal was born, raised, and slaughtered. Support the designation of cattle and beef as like/kind products. Support the renegotiation of the NAFTA to include country of origin labeling (COOL) for beef and revise the rules of origin for beef and cattle. Also, support special rules for the import sensitive cattle and sheep industries. Support the imposition of tariffs for countries with persistent surpluses.
