Worked to fully fun the highway program through 2009 reauthorization.
Supported the Highway Trust Fund Restoration Act (H.R. 6532), to restore $8 billion in the Highway Trust Fund.
Supported the National Highway Bridge Inspection and Reconstruction Act (H.R. 3999), a bill designed to heighten inspection standards and provide $1 billion each year for the next two years to repair the nation's most vulnerable bridges.
Supported stimulus bill S. 3604 which included $10.8 billion for infrastructure improvements.
Supported House stimulus bill (H.R. 7110) which would have provided over $12.8 billion for highway and bridge infrastructure.

Advocated for increased funding for the nation's water infrastructure in FY 09.
Supported House stimulus bill (H.R. 7110) which would have provided $7.5 billion for wastewater infrastructure projects and an additional $5 billion for general water resources infrastructure.
Opposed the Clean Water Restoration Act as introduced in the House (H.R. 2421) and Senate (S. 1870) which would dramatically expand the Clean Water Act (CWA) and give EPA and the Corps virtually unlimited authority to regulate intrastate waters.

Worked to make the Death Tax repeal permanent (H.R. 2380).
Advocated shortening the depreciation life of farm equipment from 7 to 5 years (H.R. 2419).
Worked to prevent repeal of last in, first out (LIFO) accounting method, which proposed in the Tax Reduction and Reform Act
(HR 3970).
Worked for enactment of H.R. 1023 and S. 777, to repeal Section 511 of the Tax Increase Prevention and Reconciliation Act of
2005, which imposed withholding on certain payments made to vendors by government entities.
Supported H.R. 5670 which would create a home purchaser tax credit to bolster housing and construction activity.
Supported the Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2008 (H.R. 3221), a bill that would incentivize home purchasing which would stimulate demand in the housing market, thereby helping to eliminate excess inventory, reverse declining home prices, and restore consumer confidence.
Urged swift enactment of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act (H.R. 1424) meant to restore certainty, stability, and liquidity to the credit markets.
Lobbied to extend the Economic Stimulus Act's (ESA) depreciation bonus and increased Sec. 179 expensing levels through the end of 2009.
