Recycling: Support policies to promote curbside, municipal, and deposit return recycling programs. Support implementation of national recycling goals. Advocate for the inclusion of Save Our Seas Section 202 Grants to be included in the Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act. Advocate for RECYCLE Act education grants to be included in the Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act.
National Ambient Air Quality Standards: Support revised SO2 NAAQS that better align the standard with human health risk. Support maintenance of the existing PM and Ozone NAAQS Levels.
Carbon/Climate Policy: Support policies that use market-based mechanisms for carbon control and account for unique effects of carbon policies on EITE industries, such as primary and secondary aluminum production. Support nationwide conformity of climate policies. Encourage consideration of aluminum use phase benefits in legislative/regulatory carbon activity.
Water Policy - Advocacy for aluminum water quality criteria updates, bioavailable aluminum testing methodologies, stormwater permit changes, jurisdictional waters, certainty and implementability, and development of nationwide fluoride water quality criteria.
Industrial Emissions - Support appropriations for Energy Act of 2020 program to develop and deploy technology that will reduce industrial emissions for EITE industries.
Vehicle Fuel Economy/GHG Emissions - Promote the ability of aluminum to help achieve maximum feasible improvements in vehicle fuel economy and GHG emissions levels as those levels are being reconsidered.

Section 232 Remedy Implementation & Exemptions: Advocate for process and policy changes to improve the Section 232 tariff exclusion process. Urge U.S. government to monitor trade flows and address unfair or illicit trade.
Section 301: Support Section 301 tariffs on imports of aluminum from China.
Import Monitor: Advocate for Commerce Department to implement its Aluminum Import Monitoring (AIM) program that serves the entire aluminum value chain, and for Congress to fund the program in FY22.
China Overcapacity: Encourage U.S. government to work with international partners and multilateral organizations to curb the policies and subsidies that lead to market-distorting overcapacity in China.
Trade Enforcement: Advocate for U.S. government to investigate and address evasion, circumvention and transshipment to ensure strong enforcement of trade rules and AD/CVD orders.
U.S. - E.U. 232 Negotiations: Advocate for the Commerce Department to negotiate an end to the Section 232 tariffs on the conditions that EU enforce their AD/CVD laws, improve their import monitoring program, and take steps to address surges in subsidized aluminum into the U.S. market.
Midwest Premium: Encourage supporters of House CJS appropriations report language to recognize previous investigations by the CFTC into this issue and to remove the language in the Senate, and ultimately the final report.
Supply Chain: Advocate for grants to be used for capital investment in next generation, low carbon primary aluminum smelting capacity. Encourage domestic investments in aluminum production through matching grants. Encourage grants or incentives for equipment upgrades, environmental compliance projects, and other efficiency gains in the domestic supply chain. Urge DOD to include aluminums entire value chain in its 100 day supply chain review. Engage with customers supply chain reviews in order to highlight the role of aluminum.

Public Transportation: Support federal infrastructure funding and authorizations to promote public transit facility funding. Support LEED certification of public transit buildings.
Electric Vehicles: Advocacy for electric vehicle tax incentives. Encourage incentives for states who incorporate electric vehicles into their energy plans.
Truck Weights: Advocate to allow states to increase truck gross vehicle weight limits on Interstate System highways within their borders to 91,000 pounds as long as those trucks are equipped with a sixth axle.
Bridges: Advocacy for elements lifecycle analysis to be considered during the procurement process for all bridges. Encourage new studies on aluminum bridges modeled after the 2017 FDOT study on aluminum decking. Encourage retrofits for bridge projects.
