Urged House Ways and Means Committee and Senate Finance Committee to generate new revenues for the Airport and Airway Trust Fund to support aviation investment levels proposed in H.R. 2881 and S. 1300. Supported H.R. 5719, the Taxpayer Assistance and Simplification Act of 2008 to delay the implementation of a 3% withholding provision.

Met with congressional staff to discuss importance of transportation investment in any economic recovery package. ARTBA staff testified before a House Transportation and Infrastructure Commitee on the impact of transportation investment on the economy. ARTBA staff submitted comments to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) disputing claims by the DOT that transportation investment is not as effective in job creation as some DOT data shows.
