Precision Scheduled Railroading - TCU communicated with Congress, the Federal Railroad Administration, the Department of Transportation, and the Surface Transportation Board to register our ongoing concerns with safety and service issues tied to the Class 1 freight railroads' operating model"Precision Scheduled Railroading." This includes pressures applied to mechanical and intermodal craft employees, resignations, and resulting overall supply chain issues.
Rail Safety - TCU routinely communicates with Congress and the Federal Railroad Administration with regards to rail safety issues as it pertains to our members, including regulations regarding brake and mechanical inspections, as well as operational concerns.
S.576 - Railway Safety Act of 2023 - TCU communicated with Senate offices in support of the legislation as it pertains to rail car inspections.
Truck Size and Weight - TCU communicated to Congress our continued opposition to any increases in the federal limits on truck sizes or weights.TCU opposes this for both safety and competitive reasons.

Communicated with NTSB regarding investigations into ongoing safety cultural studies as well as an incident that resulted in the death of our member in Ohio.
