Discussed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and its timeline for enactment, specifically focusing on a provision authored by Senator Menendez that would further sanction Iran. Met with and corresponded with various Congressional staff to secure passage of PNTR and human rights in light of the BPC report on Russia relations.
Discussed Iran nuclear development and sanctions and informed Congressional staff about a series of white papers from the BPC foreign policy team on thwarting Iran's enrichment program: "Principles for Negotiating With Iran"; "Establishing a Credible Threat Against Irans Nuclear Program"; and "Assessing the Effectiveness of Sanctions on Iran: A Call for Independent Review". Discussed BPC's paper, The Price of Inaction, dealing with the scenarios that could result if Iran is allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.
