-HR 1247 the mproving Veterans Access to Quality Care Act of 2015. To improve Veterans access to high-quality health care including recognition of the full practice authority of all advanced practice registered nurses working in the VHA.
-HR 6277Veterans' Health Care Safety Act of 2016- AANA opposes this legislation as it would adversely affect Veterans access to the highest quality health care they have earned and deserve
-S 2279/HR 4134 the Veterans Health Care Staffing Improvement Act- To improve Veterans access to high-quality health care including recognition of the full practice authority of all advanced practice registered nurses working in the VHA.
-HR 2138- Medicare Access to Rural Anesthesiology Act of 2015- Legislation would provide additional financial burden on Medicare and rural hospitals without improving overall health care outcomes.
-HR 5985- Department of Veterans Affairs Expiring Authorities Act of 2016- Lobbied on amendment language to impede Veterans access to quality health care.
-HR 5325 Continuing Appropriations and Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017, and Zika Response and Preparedness Act- Worked on report language relating to the full practice authority of advanced practice registered nurses working in the VHA

HR 4134/S 2279, HR 5985, HR 1247, HR 5235, HR 6277- All of these bills included provisions to recognize the full practice authority of all advanced practice registered nurse working in the Veterans Health administaration. AANA worked in support of legislation and provisions to grant full practice authority and against bills and provisions that oppossed full practice authority.

HR 2138- Access to rural anesthiologists legislation- Allowing anesthesiologists the ability to participate in the Medicare Part A Rural Pass-through program. If passed would introduce additional costs the system without improving access or outcomes.
Provided comments on the Medicare Access and Chip Reauthorization proposed rule, to ensure proper recognition of advanced practice nurses including certified registered nurse anesthetists in future payment programs.
