In relation to the President's ban on African Elephant Ivory, a meeting was held with APHIS administrators on ports of exit and entry, customs and border inspections of musical instruments.

Submitted written testimony to the House Committee on Natural Resources outlining American Federation of Musicians position on negative affects of the Director's Order on professional and non-professional musicians traveling abroad (exporting and importing) with legally purchased musical instruments containing African elephant ivory. Our position asked for a total exemption of legally purchased musical instruments from current and future rule-making.
