Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education and Related Agencies Appropriations Act (no number yet) - Multiple clauses Provides funding for the Division of Diabetes Translation (DDT) at the CDC as well as funding for research at the National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) at the NIH. We lobby for increase funding for both these agencies, on behalf of those who will benefit from research and education/information programs that they provide.
Issues worked on the Hill not yet reflected in legislation:
Economic Stimulus Package; ADA is interested in following the creation of the Economic Stimulus Package. Specifically, the Association is supporting $1.2 billion for the National Institutes of Health, as well as, provisions that would fun Health Information Technology.
