Monitor the implementation of the reauthorization of Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA), specifically regarding the National Assoc. of Registered Agents and Brokers Reform Act, as included in that Act. Also monitor the activities of the FIO Advisory Committee on Alternative Risk Sharing Mechanisms for TRIA.
Monitor issues re implementation of health insurance reform, and efforts to repeal and replace the ACA.
Support efforts to repeal the Cadillac Tax as in H.R.173, and S.58.
Monitor tax reform proposals generally and support efforts to preserve the current tax treatment for employer sponsored health plans and other employee benefits.
Support efforts to maintain current treatment of self-insured plans.
Support efforts to exclude financial services from border tax proposals.
Monitor efforts to make changes in the Dodd-Frank Act, as they may relate to insurance.
Monitor the activities of the Federal Insurance Office and the development of insurance modernization proposals.
Monitor issues related to cyber security and the cyber security insurance market.
Support the clarification of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act to exclude property/casualty insurance as in H.R. 871.
Support the reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program as part of the continuing resolution and the program reforms, particularly the Flood Insurance Market Parity and Modernization Act (S. 563 & H.R. 1422), the Repeatedly Flooded Communities Preparation Act (H.R. 1558), the NFIP Policyholder Protection Act of 2017 (H.R. 2868), the 21st Century Flood Reform Act of 2017 (H.R. 2874), the NFIP Administrative Reform Act of 2017 (H.R. 2875), the Taxpayer Exposure Mitigation Act of 2017 (H.R. 2246), and H.R. 2565 requiring use of replacement cost in determining premium rates.
