The association follows the federal budget and appropriations process as it relates to agencies, and their respective policies, that have jurisdiction over rural telecommunications matters. Primarily the association monitors the Federal Communications Commission(FCC),the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), and the Rural Utilities Service (RUS), and the budget, programs, and policies of each. During the reporting period the following introduced measures were focused upon.
S. Con. Res. 11 - Senate Budget Resolution An original concurrent resolution setting forth the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2016 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2017 through 2025 - Sec. 412.
S. 399 - To amend the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985 to increase transparency in Federal budgeting, and for other purposes - All Sections.
H. Con. Res. 27 - House Budget Resolution to establish the budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2016 and setting forth appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2017 through 2025 - Secs. 408 & 813.
